When you got a task to deliver a heavy box with no content description to a shady recipient living in the middle of a shady woods filled with sticky mudbogs and quicksands, who do you call?

THE HARDWORKING DUDE!!

Well, this is just a walkcycle exercise I did for my 2D animation class in my animation course. The task is to just make a loopable walkcycle but make it interesting. And NOT in Flash. So I did mine on pencil then scan it then do non-vector paintbrushy thing on Photoshop.

Animation and character rightfully owned and created by *RadenWA.

cool, i was thinking about doing some animation like this (without flash) so you draw all the pictures and then how do you get it into a playable file? what program did you use?

After Effects is the answer :)

But for shorter animations, making gifs with Photoshop might suffice.

Yes, it is. Director said it's very toublesome for flash symbols.. even my leader says so. so we prefer toonboom better. also i checked animation video toonboom is faster than flash.

Of course! :3 But this will take some time anyway. X3 Would be a cool project, though! :D
After all, it has always been my dream to produce a music video of some sort and today this is actually possible without needing a huge label or something like that.

Whenever this should get serious, I'll tell you more about it ^-^!

You should just learn to use Blender and the 2D and 2,5D tools in it :D There is a method that allows .png s to be imported straight in as planes.. You can do a whole scene in a minute. You still need to draw tho :P

Well I learnt a bit of 3D but in Maya....learning new softwares would require too much extra time from me >.>

Blender has few positives, it has all the functionality of Maya, simpler interface (or you can set it from options to have same interface and keybinds as Maya). Is lighter, much better UV mapping. Cycles engine is amazing and full node based support for other engines.

Blender is really simple, it is THE simplest to start with tbh it got low learning curve after the initial bump of course. After that it is quite steady.

But I am not talking about 3D animation. Blender can do 2D and 2.5D also. It just takes one button to switch the camera setting to 2D planar.

I don't know... It is opensource development - so it isn't standardized in program. The engine changes constantly to more optimized and include different WIDE variety of systems. Also it is developed non-profit and community based organization.

Download it and give it a try - there is tons of guides on the community forums and youtube (tho most of youtube's are total crap). Also the Wiki is really good.
And it basically runs on anything, it is REALLY lightweight because it is python based.
