When they finally invent the hoverboard, and people start making tricks and cool techniques for it, they gonna need some names to go with it.
This is what I would call this one movement, which involves doing a backflip, ollie and summoning a wind dragon at the same time.

This is part one of a project I did for my first year of animation course, which was like 2 years ago. The file kinda disappeared so I was just able to upload it now.

The project requires us to do an interesting movement sequence in frame by frame technique and then try to recreate it on tween-based technique. This is, obviously the fbf technique. Here's the more detailed, but less lively Tween version:

Featuring my beloved airboarder and dragon tamer, Leon.
Character, animation, blah blah everything is done rightfully by :iconradenwa:.

For one, this is badass. Well, it really is. The first sight of it really blew my mind. Considering I've been +Watching you for almost three years now, I'm very proud to see this kind of progress in your art.
The fluidity of the animation is almost perfect, save for the face that could have used some more work. But since this is just a part of a huge project, I'll forget that for now.
For originality, this is great. When I find animation, it's usually just blinking or walking or a simple tweening. So seeing this kind of movement done in an animation is refreshing and exciting.
Overall, this is absolutely amazing. Good job, and I look forward to more of your work!

Simplistic design and coloring allow the movement to have more impact on the viewer and does not take attention away from the backgrounds action as a trigger in the scene.
Movement is smooth and clean. No major flaws to be seen.
If artist keeps this simple, clean and yet very effective style it can lead to great works in the future. Important is to remember to keep it controlled.
When actions are used to tell the story, the focus should be on the action and it's arc, not on the actor itself. And when actor tells the story - vice versa.

The character's inner lines could have been darker to bring out the details. Now the pockets and seams of the clothing get blurred under the power green and yellow against the white background.
Example the leather brown is stronger compared to the character itself that they draw focus away from the design itself. This should be kept in mind when doing future animations. A good example is also the glows that get blurred with the undershirt during movement.

Granted these flaws are minor, but must be taken in to account in the future. Great potential is present but should be guided correctly and input given fairly.

The way he moves and the animation in this one feels a lot more natural and flowing than the other version. Got to say, I like this one better.

Actually, it reminds me of some of the insane stunts that Conan pulls on his skateboard (Detective Conan).

Very cool.

I like this one better..It's awesome! You can't do every movement with a rigg. I'd fav but the button seems to be missing. I just did a simple walk cycle in toomboom. ..I'm just learning to walk and yer doin flips.

Thank you for the side by side on the subject of Tween animation vs Frame by frame.

While harder to do and time consuming. It's worth the effort.
